Before beginning work, all employees must identify potential hazards, wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), follow all company safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions immediately.

General Workplace Hazards
Employees may encounter the following hazards while performing their duties:
- Moving vehicles and heavy equipment
- Slip, trip, and fall hazards
- Uneven pavement and surfaces
- Flying debris
- Dust and airborne particles
- High-pressure water equipment
- Noise exposure
- Heat stress and dehydration
- Chemical exposure from fuels, detergents, or cleaning agents
- Manual lifting and repetitive motion injuries
- Electrical hazards
- Low visibility work areas
- Public traffic and pedestrians
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Employees are required to wear:
- ANSI reflective safety vest
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
- Steel-toe or slip-resistant work boots
- Hearing protection when necessary
- Hard hat when required by the job site
- Respiratory protection when required
Safe Work Practices
Employees shall:
- Conduct a pre-shift inspection of all equipment.
- Never operate defective equipment.
- Maintain a safe distance from moving traffic.
- Use proper lifting techniques.
- Never bypass safety guards or machine safety devices.
- Keep work areas clean and free of unnecessary debris.
- Maintain three points of contact when entering or exiting equipment.
- Use cones, barricades, and warning signs when working near traffic.

- Immediately report all injuries, accidents, and near misses.
- Stop work if an unsafe condition exists.
Equipment Hazards
Employees operating street sweepers, blowers, pressure washers, or related equipment must:
- Inspect equipment before use.
- Verify all safety guards are installed.
- Check hoses and fittings for leaks or damage.
- Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.
- Never point a pressure washer at people or animals.
- Turn equipment off before servicing or clearing jams.
Heat Illness Prevention
Employees should:
- Drink water frequently.
- Take scheduled rest breaks.
- Wear light-colored clothing when possible.
- Watch for symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
- Notify a supervisor immediately if symptoms occur.
Chemical Safety
Employees must:
- Read and follow product labels.
- Wear appropriate PPE when handling chemicals.
- Never mix chemicals unless authorized.
- Clean spills immediately using approved procedures.Report chemical exposure immediately.
Traffic Safety
When working around moving vehicles:
- Stay alert at all times.
- Wear high-visibility clothing.
- Use spotters whenever backing equipment.
- Establish eye contact with equipment operators.
- Never assume drivers can see you.
- Emergency Procedures
- In the event of an emergency:
- Stop work immediately.
- Notify your supervisor.
- Call 911 if emergency medical assistance is required.
- Secure the work area if it can be done safely.
- Report all incidents before leaving the job site.
